The music group plays for the family service on the second Sunday of each month in St Mary's Wallingford, leading the hymns (along with the junior choir). There are about eleven musicians in the group (adults and junior members) who play flutes, clarinet, bass clarinet, bassoon, violins, viola, cello, trombone and piano.
As well as playing the hymns they also enjoy playing a short voluntary. These have included Vivaldi’s Spring in March, Hosanna from Lloyd Weber’s Jesus Christ Superstar for the Palm Sunday service, Amazing Grace on Remembrance Sunday, and The Bridal March to illustrate a wedding at a gift service in December.
The music group always welcomes new instrumental players, both adults and young people from twelve years of age, of grade 3 standard and above. If you are interested in joining the music group please get in touch.
